Plumbing in Raymond Terrace
Raymond Terrace was a major post-WWII expansion area, with most of its housing built between the 1950s and 1980s. Newer estate development continues on the western edge of the town.
Houses from the 1950s and 60s frequently have galvanised iron pipework that’s now well past its design life. The 70s and 80s stock is typically copper but the early flexi-hose installs from that era are also reaching end of life and they’re a leading cause of catastrophic kitchen floods.
Raymond Terrace is close to the Hunter River and parts of the older suburbs sit on flood-prone land. Anything on the river side benefits from a non-return valve on the sewer connection, which I can install in an afternoon.
Raymond Terrace flexi-hose replacement is something I push pre-emptively on older kitchens. They’re cheap to replace, expensive to find out they’ve let go. Twenty minutes of work saves you a kitchen rebuild.
